Mr Nil Nair, Director, Board member
Mr Nilesh (Nil) Nair. An accomplished international business person with more than 10 years as CEO with global commodity, GES HK. Nil is also a very motivated professional with over 6 years of experience in mediation, conflict dealing, indigenous community engagement. Experience in consultation, facilitation, “men in depression” and homelessness, Nil has completed his MBA, Diploma in Meditation, and currently studying Bachelor of Counselling.
Nil has also set up the “Shoulder2Shoulder” program with MBLA. The program created in 2018, aid our seniors stuck in hospitals and nursing homes alone and with very little or no visitors. We sit and listen to them and keep them company. Sometimes besides the staff members, we are the only people they see and talk with! Shoulder2Shoulder has now expanded to 8 nursing homes and with hopes to further expand to 4 more in 2020.
Nil also created the ongoing program for men suffering depression (Men affected by Divorce, bankruptcy or other life-changing crises) and homelessness “Men In Need” (MIN). The program MIN became successful growing from 6 successful transformations to 56 men who have continued to remain in housing and with employment in 2019.
“My Best Life is a life that everyone should be living. For some, it may mean several holidays each year, big houses, fancy cars and yachts but for the homeless community, it just means a safe and simple roof over their head. Our long term goal is creating a non-judgmental environment where people can seek aid and help. We assist and mentor the community in settling into new environments and assist in employment. In Census 2016, more than 37,000 people in NSW were homeless, an increase of 37% from 2011. It is estimated in 2021 it will be more than 50,000 just in NSW alone. This is 50,000 reasons to get involved in aiding the homeless community”
